Repetition, Change, and Time

Great holiday weekend, had the first Seder with my future family, and the second one we chose to do at home just by ourselves with our kids, explaining all the details.  My big boy loved Eliyahu Hanavi, my daughter sang the Ma Nishtana, and my baby loved Dayenu.
It was perfect, and had a great lunch with friends today, happy for a week in the world.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend, I see so many pictures of time with family and friends, tradition, celebration, and happiness.  I love that holidays happen on a yearly basis, everyone stops everything to enjoy each other, have a good time, and pass on customs and rituals to future generations.

REPETITION:

Every year we grow and see things differently, repetition is healthy, keeping strong ties with family and supporting each other is a blessing.  In Judaism we do many things on a continuous basis:

1. Reading Torah every day, and starting again once we finish.  As a child you hear stories, and as you grow you understand deeper meanings and lessons.

2.  Weekly we stop everything to have a full day of rest, Shabbat has become something I look forward to, and I am so happy that my kids know that we step off the world, with no devices, and just spend time together with each other and our community.

3. Our holidays celebrate our history throughout the year, remember our ancestors trials and tribulations, passing it on to our children, and keep learning and growing each year.

CHANGE:

We just cut my baby's hair, and we are still getting used to it.  I love that he is growing every day, but that hair was just such a big part of his personality, but on the other hand it was in his face and messy.  Change is healthy, change is good, moving forward is necessary, I will survive.

TIME:

As adults with busy lives time really does just fly by, and once you have kids that is the way you see time is moving.  I cannot believe this year we will be married eight years, and my oldest child will be seven, I still feel young and full of life, Thank God, and most importantly reminding myself all the time to be present, enjoy the journey, and be grateful for my kind of problems.

Have a great week!
