Sleep and Quiet

This was last Sunday when my kids jumped into the ocean with all of their clothes, hanging in undies, baby in diaper

Last night my husband and I were just ready to go to sleep and my baby started coughing, and it didn't stop all night.  Unfortunately it is one of those dry coughs that the doctor recommends a humidifier, and nothing else but rest will help it pass.  Thank God he is feeling better today, he just had an almost 4 hour nap.  For me, without sleep, my happy positive meter is a bit off balance, I still get recharged from my classes and clients, but when I first walk in, it takes a while to snap out of the fog and get into the flow. Besides that it was just a crazy run around morning of three classes in a row, when I finally got home around 2pm, I was lucky enough to have time to nap.  The baby was sleeping, my big boy is on a field trip with camp, my daughter did not want to go.  Luckily she really understands and respects my need to rest, and was so quiet, that when I started rousing, I was hoping everyone was OK.  Baby was still sleeping, and she was just resting by his side.

Now I am ready to run off and teach two more classes, and start all over again tomorrow.  I wouldn't change a thing, except for putting naps into every day if possible.  It was so nice to wake up to complete quiet, it is so rare with three toddlers running around, it really fills me with such peace when its quiet. Usually my classes and clients are in the morning and at night, and if all kids are at camp and preschool then there is a possibility of a nap to recharge for the night.

A smile is coming across my face as I think of this possibility,
I love to tell the story of a friend of mine who saw my wedding picture,
He said wow you look so beautiful, what happened?
Hee Hee, it wasn't rude, it was really his heartfelt question,
So I told him I haven't slept in five years, my oldest is 5,
The good thing is I know how to turn into a Diva if need be,
Which is going to happen exactly a week from now when I go to my first rock concert in a long time,
Oh the little pleasures of life,
What are your little pleasures?
