In our world today we are always reachable, either by text, phone, email, online, or through our secretaries and personal assistants. I love being reachable, especially running my own business, I can modify, reschedule, and make appointments as I run around with family, work, and check of my to do list.
My schedule is always changing because of life, and I love it, if something gets cancelled, I have a million things to substitute instead. My work is with pregnant mommies, and also parents who have so much going on, as well as myself. My Monday morning just became open, so I am taking time to do office work, and then will be with my baby in his appointments while my husband can have the free day to do his work. I am blessed that my husband also has his own business, and we work together with our schedules to juggle the kids and our work schedule. As soon as a Doula client goes into labor, I literally can drop everything and feel good that my kids will be fine. Some people need more of a structured schedule, I feel claustrophobic with too much structure. I do love the structure of my kids being in school for the day, so I can have time to do what I love.
I love to keep learning and growing, and also letting go of what doesn't work. So no matter where you are in life, know that nothing is permanent, and to really be present to what works for you, your family, and your lifestyle.
