This Too Shall Pass

My sister in law has engraved in her wedding ring this exact phrase, I believe it says it twice, once on the outside, and then again on the inside, and this too shall pass.  Especially as a mother I know this all too well, crying, diapers, tantrums, sleepless nights, and all the other things that are way to much, then they pass and something else is too much.  Although some parents would say that crying and sleepless nights are for life once you have kids :)

I find this post so interesting because it is just the basic truth, the waves of life, and I love that it is in English, Hebrew, and Arabic.  Interesting history from various cultures, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_too_shall_pass.  When I was googling this I ran across an amazing explanation of the Talmud in English.  My mother was telling me that in Japanese and Korean societies Talmud is studied, I find this fascinating, http://www.sacred-texts.com/jud/wott/wott07.htm.

This is one of the sections that I love, it talks about the sanctity of human life.  I am shocked how the world is so focused on the women and children of Gaza, but not on the reason that it is happening, Hamas.  For Jewish people every human life is precious, the goal is to bring light by example into the world.

"Deriving from this conception of man's place in the universe is the sense of the supreme sanctity of all human life. "He who destroys one person has dealt a blow at the entire universe, and similarly, he who makes life livable for one person has sustained the whole world." All law, civil and religious, has as its purpose the promotion of human life, and when it ceases to serve that end it becomes obsolete and is to be superseded. To quote a good Talmudic maxim, "The Sabbath is made for man and not man for the Sabbath"; and what was true for the Sabbath applied likewise to all."

I feel so honored that many of you Jew and Non Jew are sending me articles, and asking me questions about my opinion.  Thank you so much for knowing that everything comes from my heart and a desire for truth and eradication of evil in this world.  I want to be happy, and this is not possible when my nation is under attack.

Meaningful Fast to my Jewish brothers and sisters,
Coach Yulia
