First days and Last Days of Sukkot

Got my nails and hair did for the final days of the Jewish Holiday season
Sukkot and Passover share something in common, they are both eight days long outside of Israel, where they are seven days long, we don't want to make a mistake missing the correct time to celebrate.

The first two days everyone takes of work, goes to synagogue, and then there are four days in the middle which are free days, most people go on vacations, visit family, or just do fun stuff together. We have been going to celebrations all over town, below is a video of a fun bounce bungee kind of fun that my big boy was playing on along with his friend from school.  Instead of Santa Monica, they call it Simcha Monica, what do you think my Jewish friends?

Our first days of Sukkot were so much fun, we went to a different Sukkah every lunch and dinner, with amazing friends, conversation, and food.  My kids had a blast seeing all the different ways people build and express themselves.  Most of all they enjoyed playing with all the different kids, their toys, and their play sets.  The last days start tonight and go until Friday night, and it is a full on party, dancing in the streets, visiting different celebrations all around town.  It all leads into a peaceful Shabbat, and the Old Testament starts all over again with Genesis.  I love how kids every year learn it from a new angle, get a new perspective, go deeper, and as adults we find answers to absolutely everything in these ancient words and stories.  I will be signing off until Saturday night, excited to finish strong, in full spirits, high on life, appreciating my bounty and striving higher in all areas of life.

Chag Sameach,
Party on,
So blessed that my family is able to absorb every ounce of the intensity of these holidays,
YAY!
