Proud Mama

Kid #1 Competely surpised me when I saw him leading his school in the pledge of allegiance, luckily another mom captured it in the video above.  There are three kindergarten classes, his was the first to lead the school, and he told them that he knew it by heart, so proud, his photographic memory helps with these kind of things.  What I was so impressed about was his presence, confidence, and willingness to lead a group, yep that's my son.

Kid #2 My daughter had a review at her school today, and is just wowing everybody not only with her amazing language, social, and leadership skills, but also her writing and math are right on point.

Kid #3 Thank God he is so tall at 2 1/2 that he went pee pee standing up without standing on something.  Don't get teaching boys to pee sitting down, we used to stand on his potty/stool, not anymore!

Tomorrow night we commence our partying, it is the home stretch culminating in a huge all night celebration with dancing in the streets with the Torah, and synagogue hopping, and in our celebration will be tons of food from all over the world, YUM!

As I have been relaying my daily happenings, sometimes I sit down to write and think about the positive as I usually do, and totally block out the not so good, almost ruined my time kind of things.

Sunday night we went out for my birthday, and as we got off the highway, Ventura Blvd was blocked off, luckily it was not far from our location, so we parked and walked.  We found out that there was an unidentified bag, and we were actually asked to leave the place, probably when they were looking inside the bag, and about 10 minutes later it reopened.  The night turned out amazing, and I suppose we should be thankful that these kind of things are taken seriously in this crazy world that we live in.

My mother in law gave me some cash for my birthday making sure to let me know that I can only spend it on myself.  I decided to go to the Korean Spa and get a scrub, it is my favorite place, but a few things were off that day.  I didn't see the sign that my favorite hot tub with mugwort was not working, and it wasn't hot enough, the one that is usually warm was cold.  The only available time was two hours after I got there, so I soaked and steamed as much as I could.  It is amazing how challenging it is just to relax, but usually if you go with a friend it is fun, my friend that I like to go with was having her own lazy, relaxing day at home.  To top it all of when it was time for my appointment, the lady saw that my skin was dry and told me to get in the hot tub for 5 minutes.  I told her I already did before and was annoyed that it would take off of my scrub time.  Then while soaking and feeling that it was hard to communicate, I realized it was probably important to soak right before the scrub so the pores would open up.  She gave me the whole half hour, went five minutes over, it was thorough, my skin was happy.  While I was returning the locker key, I saw the sign that my favorite hot tub was under construction, at least it was a gift and not out of my pocket, right?

OY VEY,
Sometimes it feels good to vent and let it out,
Oh the silly problems we have,
Korean spas with no English,
A bar being closed down due to a possible bomb,
I guess these are just adventures of life in America,
Once written down, it is all just a good story to tell,
I'm such a proud mama,
My kids surprise me every day,
Shower me with love,
and sometimes tantrums,
I would not change a thing,
Coach Yulia
