Ingrained Russian Behavior

I have been in the United States since I was seven years old, and lived most of that time in Miami and now Los Angeles, where "cold weather," is just a reason to dress in winter fashion.  My ingrained beliefs are strong, and sometimes make no sense, but I cannot shake them, and I don't think I want to. Right now I am getting annoying allergies, and feeling so hot, and my first instinct is to cover up. Just like when a baby has a fever, the Russian method is very different than the recommended method of cooling them down, giving a bath, and very light clothes.

Some of the superstitions in the above link are things that I heard my mother in law say about not handing someone a knife directly, and she also says not to leave keys on a table or money won't come.  Does it work the other way? Will money come if I do not leave my keys on the table, so far not really :)

This makes me think of beliefs, perspective, culture, tradition, race, and the phrase, why can we just all get along!  Recently Ben Affleck, which is someone that I was never really a fan off, just a personal opinion, I see no oomph, defended Islam after Bill Mahers comments.  I honestly have not watched the segment, but recently a Muslim professor was interviewed, and it is interesting to me how he answered the questions, and now there is an article talking about how his answers were not always correct.  You decide.  After all, all we can do sometimes is agree to disagree. Here is the link, http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2014/10/05/reza-aslan-is-wrong-about-islam-and-this-is-why/.

Discuss,
Stay Open,
Listen,
Gather Facts,
Everyone has an opinion,
Nature vs, Nurture,
I can't shake my Russian upbringing in some ways,
But I respect everyone else to drink ice cold drinks,
Walk around with the throat bare, and
Wash your hair and run out the door,
