Deep - Torah - Name - Connection

I am not a school person, but I love to keep learning.  Along with my certifications for Personal Training and Group Exercise, I need to keep renewing and getting continuous education units.  What I also love to learn is the laws of the universe, how to read people, and also delve into myself to keep growing.  The Jewish nation, culture, religion, family, or whatever category, I think we fit into every category, is all about delving deep.  It is so amazing to me that every Shabbat, on Saturday mornings we read a portion of the Torah, Old Testament, and it will affect and make sense to each person differently.  We read the Torah year round, and then start all over again when we are finished, but every year we are a different person.  Children learn stories, and at each stage of life there are new and deeper lessons.

As a married woman with children, so many of the laws make complete sense, and what I love the most is that everything that has ever happened or will happen is in the Torah.  I got an example of that today when someone pointed out how even the name that we are given is a destiny.  My big boy's birthday is coming up next week, today was the section of the Torah that was read when he was born. At the end of each Parsha, Torah section, there is a summary of exactly how many sentences and other details written in Hebrew letters that also have numerical value.  My friend pointed out to me today that my son's name Eli in Hebrew is in these letters, עלי, if you look at the picture above you can see it.

These connections are amazing to me, I really do feel everything is connected, from the stars in the sky, to the minerals on the ground and in our bodies.  I did not know that his name was written in his Parsha that he was born.  His whole name is Eli Tzvi, the second name is my mother's father, and the first name is after my husband's uncle who got killed in an Israeli war when he was 18.  His name was Eliyahu, I didn't want to name directly since he died so young, just in honor of, and I wanted just Eli, but not Ely.  I like the Israeli sound of Eli, so my brother in law suggested the spelling that you see above, and here is another connection.  In Jewish history, Eli was a Cohen, and the teacher of Shmuel, my husband's name is Shmuel.  You can read all the explanations of this here,

I love connecting with people deep,
I love genuine intense people,
I love to keep learning from my ancestors,
The deeper meaning of things gives me a natural high,
Be Real,
Be True,
Be You,
