Squeezing Things In (Double Entendre)

I love the use of double entendre, and when I was scanning my brain on what to talk about, squeezing things in pertained to two important events in my life currently.

dou·ble en·ten·dre
ˌdo͞obl ˌänˈtändrə/
noun
  1. a word or phrase open to two interpretations, one of which is usually risqué or indecent.
    synonyms:ambiguitydouble meaninginnuendo, play on words
    • humor using double entendres.

One of my challenges is that I love to squeeze everything in, sometimes to the detriment of my peace of mind while I am running from place to place not able to enjoy something fully.  Right now my schedule is really full and I do not have the luxury or desire to squeeze things in, I don't want to run anymore.  Preparation and opportunity leads to possibilities, I am always open, but for now I am satisfied with my lot and will give it my undivided attention.  I will however enjoy making myself available if I do have time.  This Friday I will volunteer to read a story to my son's Kindergarten class, it is early enough so I can still make it to my teacher's Yoga class, and then off to teaching PE before picking my son up from school.

The second squeezing things in is a bit risqué as the above definition explains, but it is very important to talk about and learn.  In my Yoga and Mat Pilates classes I always emphasize becoming aware and strengthening the Pelvic Floor muscles, all of this can be searched on google.  Basically for ladies they are the Kegel muscles and for gentlemen it is the perineum.  Someone in my class told me that he heard from a urologist that for men and women it is the sensation of stopping your flow when you are urinating, the squeeze that you feel is the kegel or perineum.  That squeeze is what needs to be used during exercise, when you are picking up something heavy, and in general for good posture and activating your core.  When you do this squeeze its like a crunch from the inside, if you are feeling your back in anything something is wrong, the abdominals and core should be doing all of the work all of the time.

I am excited because since having three babies in a row, even with my strong core from 15 years of Yoga, I would sneeze and pee, or just pee when I needed to pee.  Sorry if this is too much information but I feel many of you can relate, especially my fellow moms that are having multiple births.  Incontinence also affects people of all ages, and many times the elderly because of lack of exercise in that area take medication. Yesterday I went for an hour run with a friend, towards the end I had to pee, and I noticed nothing was leaking and it really made me conscious that my constant exercise in that area made a huge difference, my kids are 5,4, and 2.5, and I have completely healed and strengthened my core, WOO HOO!  Everything else will get in shape as I keep working on it, but the inside health and function are my main priority.  If none of this makes sense to you, male or female, please reach out and I will do my best to explain.  When you are at a red light hold your kegel/perineum, when you are at a green light let it go, find other times to consciously exercise the area, it is preventive maintenance for your health.

I gotta go,
I gotta pee,
Coach Yulia
