Wouldn't it be nice to have no technology, no electronics, to take a break from it all once in a while?

I keep reading articles how at family gatherings instead of bonding with each other, each person is glued to their smart phone or ipad, and even my daughter whenever she sees that I am on my phone asks for the phone, she loves to take pictures, mostly of herself!

This is one of my daughters pictures from the phone, my son was eating chicken soup and
spilled it all over his clothes, so I took them off, then he went to her bowl and finished hers, love his belly!
I let my kids watch the cute PBS cartoons and I know so many people love the ipad for all the learning and fun.  As an adult I know I can browse all day, it never gets old for me, it is like an ongoing reality show.  The only time I get away from it all during the week is when I do a Yoga class.  Even when I teach a Yoga class that hour I am completely turned off, and having an amazing energy exchange with the group.  We all literally feel that we stepped off the world for an hour.

What I am really blessed with in my married life with kids and living in the Jewish community is the day we all turn off, run around the whole week preparing to turn off from Friday night sundown, to Saturday night sundown.  Phones are off, TVs are off, Computers are off, we do not drive, we do not listen to music, we stop the over stimulation that we love so much during the week and just listen to each other, enjoy a meal together, and enjoy a real rest from our non stop world.

Thank God For Shabbat,
I really do not know how I could function without this amazing Day of Rest,
Shabbat Shalom,
Coach Yulia
